Great day to get it done and get caught up on yoga sketches and readings. It is later then I usually right this blog so I am feeling a little tired now. This diet is also different then I am use to with more carbs and sugars then I am use to eating too so I feel a little sluggish so we will see if I need to make some food changes to make that less of an effect. I look forward to Fred's talk this weekend on food. It is an additional three hour lecture on food. Wish Lane was here to benefit from that too.
Fred talked to us a lot about the top ten points to remember when teaching a class. We even taught the class ourselves for certain section which is actually a lot harder then I thought it would be remembering to tell people to breath at the right times. We have to treat each person as though then know thought about yoga.
We need to master the atomic purposes of the psoas muscle after all your pelvis is your centre of gravity.
Most important lessons I feel we learned today about the poses and life in general. If you are struggling and the reason you are not able to do something is there something you can do about it? If so do it. If you are struggling and there is nothing you can do about what is resisting you then accept that not as a defeat but as the way it is. Surrender, exhale and move on. Being able to identify the difference and juxtaposition between the two is the art form we are all seeking.
abhyasa vairagyabhyam tat nirodhah
tapas svadhyaya isvara pranidhana (effort vs surrender)
Other great / awesome things discover today: new way to do boat pose to build best core strength, myself being able holding crow for five breath, getting into forehand stand!! and coconut dairy free icecream! Thank the gods for all the yoga I am doing 'cas this veg gluten free stuff is so fattening / yummy! :P
