Seventh straight day into...it's starting to ware on me and my classmates the non stop stuffing of yoga into our brains.  Then the need to practise in at least one class a day and then all the personal practise too. It is amazing on one hand and then baffling in the other. Today when we found out that we have to create two different books all together to graduate this class and one of the ladies in my class asked "when and where are we going to have the time to do this" it was suggest that we do "whatever it takes" even it that meant missing hours of sleep to get there.

These last  days have challenged a lot of what I have worked hard to set right in my body. I was told at the start at the class that I had to be vegan. I am gluten free so to take out things means I was adding things that really did not agree with me. I was already very clean with my eating - I don't even drink. Nevertheless I feel it is part of my journey to try something before I detoured from it. I did go vegan for one week but the amount of carb and sugars I added as just too substantial for my system to heal with so I am going back to the routine that my holistic trained (Cady) had set out for me months ago and I have had so much life success with. I will go back to eating egg white for now. With my blood condition and my intestine problems, the egg white seem to work for keeping my health right. Don't know why but it works. Don't worry Fred, it is not a "life choice" and I will work towards being a vegan. I agree 100% in ahimsa and have worn a bracelet saying so for years. I just need to make sure my body it healed to be healthy.

On that note, SLEEP! is the most by far important thing in one life for healing. We are practising in at lease one very physical 90 min class a day if not two and then doing physical sequence work in class for four hr and then the practise we do at home. It is 100% necessary that we replenish and SLEEP at least 7.5 hours a night. I feel as though this course challenges what I  know to be right for your body to what you need to do for certification. I feel as though for half a second I change my mind and  think "you are right - if that's what I have to do I will do it" until I take a step back and realise...wait, I know what is best for my body, that's why I chose yoga. Health is one of the most important things in this world - the only thing more important then your health is your right and ability to have faith in what you know is best for you regardless of what any other person suggests. No one knows you better then you.

It has taken me a long time to know what is best for me but now that I do I am privileged to take from those who want to guide me to greatness but not follow all they suggest unless it benefit me. Fred said in class the other day "a student must go to every masters garden and pick some flowers to make their own bouquet".

Today we practiced with Allaine Stricklen. If you don't know her and you live in Miami you MUST take one of her classes. She is outstanding and her energy and love for yoga radiates. I was feeling very stressed with person relationship stuff today and time and course load and food diet today and taking her class helped me put a lot into perceptive.

As for Allaine's class and her training was wonderful. It was a refreshing change from what we have been doing so much of in the last few days. While both Fred and Allaine are so knowledgeable their teaching styles are very different from each other which makes for a great combination in learning.  When I use to practise a lot of yoga while I was in BC I use to do one yin class a week so I loved doing a restorative class today. I am very excited to drink up as much of Allaine knowledge as I possibly can.

Other great news, all my fourteen million boat pose outside the studio are working. Balanced in hot yoga class (with Fred's help of course) in forehand stand (that pose is the one like head stand but balancing on your forehands since headstand can be dangerous) for a little over 5 seconds lol and look my tummy is getting more definition :) What is more important is that my psoas muscle is becoming stronger and stronger each day :) yippee to other balancing poses in my future with a strong core to support me.

I also learned today that you should sleep on your right side when you sleep because it honors your heat and opens it up.  Healthy heart sounds pretty amazing. I had to think for a second  "how do I sleep". Well, since I have been here not very well at all so I am kind of all over the place but then I thought of Lane and remembered...yes, I do sleep on my right side and usually in his arms with him snuggles up on his right side too beside me.
